bioAssayXML

With the growing outsourcing of research experiments within the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry, there is a strong need for a common data exchange format for bioassay data.  bioAsssayXML is intended as a proposal for an open-source and community specification for a bioassay data exchange format.   It is envisioned as the integration of a public bioAssay OWL-based ontology and an XML exchange format. The formats to be supported with open-source Java and Groovy API's for creating and reading the document format.

A brief description is provided in a presentation given in 2005.
