Semantic Laboratories has developed a revolutionary enterprise search appliance for the retrieval and integration of structured and unstructured research experiment data and managed research knowledge distributed throughout the drug discovery organization and the world-wide web.

Developed using the multi-platform  Eclipse Rich Client Platform (RCP) and industry standard open-source Web Services and Semantic Web technologies, integrated with open-source and freely available search technologies including Apache Lucene, IBM OmniFind, Google Desktop, Alfresco, Yahoo! Search and Windows Live Search, SLabsSearch™ provides an integrated search platform for finding, retrieving and integrating research data distributed across the network and the Internet. 

Critical public research databases such as PubMed, PubChem and other  Entrez databases can be searched in parallel along with any of the other configured data sources.

SLabsSearch™ also integrates with commercial search products such as the Google Enterprise Search Appliance for organizations choosing not to integrate open-source software components.

Three components of SLabsSearch™ are available:

SLabsSearch™ Desktop for stand-alone searching of a user's local file system, public data repositories and web sites across the Intranet and Internet.

SLabsSearch™ Enterprise for comprehensive searching of user local file systems, networked research file servers, document and content management systems, research ORACLE and other relational databases, XML data stores, public data repositories and web sites across the Intranet and Internet.  SLabsSearch™ Enterprise components include:

SLabsSearch™ Manager for managing user access to SLabsSearch components and providing search and ontology web services to the SLabsSearch™ Desktop client

SLabsRDBMSearch™ Connector for connecting SLabsSearch™ Desktop to the database search services provided by SLabsRDBMSearch™ web services

SLabsCMS™ Connector for connecting SLabsSearch™ Desktop to the content management system search services provided by SLabsCMS™ web services

SLabsForums™ Connector for connecting SLabsSearch™ Desktop to the discussion forums search services provided by SLabsForum

OmniFind Connector for connecting SLabsSearch™ Desktop to the search services provided by IBM's OmniFind Yahoo Edition search server

SLabsSearch™ Web Services for searching aggregated content (such as patents and drug information) collected by Semantic Laboratories using customized search engine technologies.
